Terms of sale
- Any quotations are valid for 30 calendar days from the date issued.
- Product sizes are approximate and based on standard measurements.
- No contract is formed until payment has been received. Once paid, these terms form a legally binding agreement.
- It is your responsibility to check your order confirmation carefully, as this is the document I use when preparing your order.
- May Crumb Co. reserves the right to use images of your baked goods for advertising, social media, galleries, and competitions.
- I recommend keeping copies of all documentation received for your records.
Our baked goods
- I assure that your cupcakes, cookies, or brownies will conform to the description in your order confirmation, be of satisfactory quality, and comply with UK food safety standards.
- I cannot be held responsible for dissatisfaction with the design or interpretation, as long as the order matches your pre-agreed requirements.
- The warranty does not cover defects caused by wilful damage, accidents, negligence, misuse, or alterations after collection.
- All of our cupcakes contain gluten and soya.
- All of our cookies and brownies contain gluten.
- All products are made in a kitchen that may occasionally handle eggs, fish, soya, milk, peanuts, nuts, sesame, and celery. While every care is taken to avoid cross-contamination, I cannot guarantee any product is completely free from allergens.
- When ordering, please always let me know about any allergies or intolerances.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to ask for an ingredients list, and inform me of any allergies at the time of order.
- I do not offer exact replicas of other people’s work; reference images are more than welcome to guide your custom order.
Ordering & notice period
All bakes from May Crumb Co. are freshly made to order. To ensure availability and quality:
- All cupcakes require a minimum of two weeks’ notice.
- Cookies and brownies require at least one week’s notice.
- I recommend booking early for weekends, special occasions, and seasonal dates.
- If you need an order at shorter notice, please get in touch - I’ll always do my best to accommodate where possible, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Baking & freshness
- All products are baked as close to the collection date as possible to ensure maximum freshness.
- Cupcakes are usually baked the day before or the day of collection.
- Cookies and brownies are typically baked 1-2 days before collection, as they store well and allow flavours to develop.
- Some items may be prepared in advance for quality or convenience, but always within a safe and suitable timeframe.
Storage
- Cupcakes, cookies, and brownies should be stored in a cool, dry place, in the packaging provided, away from direct sunlight or heat.
- Do not refrigerate, unless otherwise advised.
- May Crumb Co. cannot be held liable for damage caused by adverse weather conditions.
Collection
- Orders may be collected free of charge by prior arrangement.
- Arriving outside the agreed collection window may result in delays.
- Once your order leaves our premises, May Crumb Co. is not responsible for damage during transport.
Price & payment
- Prices are as stated in your order confirmation.
- Prepayment policy: All orders must be paid in full within 24 hours of receiving the order confirmation and payment details. Your order will not be made until full payment is received.
- Late payment constitutes breach of contract. May Crumb Co. reserves the right to cancel the order if payment isn’t received within the 24 hours of receiving the order confirmation and payment details. Any delay in obtaining ingredients due to late payment will not result in liability.
Cancellations & postponements
- Cancellation charges:
- More than 7 days before collection = 50% of the full order amount.
- Less than 7 days before collection = 100% of the full order amount.
- Postponements: Please contact me as soon as possible. While not guaranteed, I may be able to move your order to a new date.
Liability
- Any claims for defective goods or services are limited to a refund or credit note, at May Crumb Co.’s discretion, and will not exceed the value of the goods ordered.
Complaints
- Taste and flavour are subjective; dissatisfaction alone will not constitute a claim.
- Complaints must be reported within 24 hours of collection, with the product returned if required, so I can assess the issue fairly.
- Decoration issues must be reported at collection. After this, decoration claims cannot be accepted.
- Parties agree not to post negative content online without first providing written notice and giving an opportunity to resolve the issue amicably.
- May Crumb Co. will only communicate with the person who placed the original order.
